#43 "like" と "don't like" の他の表現

本日は、Learn English with Emma [engVid] チャンネルさんからです。

動画のタイトルは、

"English Vocabulary: other words for LIKE and DON'T LIKE"
「英単語： LIKE と DON'T LIKE の他の単語」

です。

"I like it" 「好き」 　

"I don't like it" 「好きではない」

という表現がありますが、会話をする上で、この表現だけを言っていても会話に深みがでてきません。

日本語でも同じですが、同じ単語を頻繁に使うより、色々バリエーションを付けた方が会話が楽しくなりますよね。

ですので、動画で Emmaさんが、

LIKE 「好き」 

DON'T LIKE 「好きではない」

の意味に代わる英語の表現を紹介しています。

この表現をマスターして、会話を楽しくしてみませんか？

先ずは、"like" 「好き」です。

I like reading.
「私は（本を）読むのが好きです」

1.  I enjoy reading.

2.  I love reading.

3.  I'm passionate about music.

4.  I'm fond of reading.

5.  I'm a fan of baseball.

6.  I'm interested in shopping.
     I'm interested in Brad Pitt.

7.  I'm into scuba diving.
     I'm into traveling.


次に、"don't like" です。

I don't like cooking.
「私は料理が好きではありません」

1.  I hate cooking.

2.  I loathe cooking.      loathe  /ləʊð/

3.  I can't stand cooking.

4.  I'm not much of a fan of cooking.

5.  Cooking drives me crazy.

6.  I'm sick of cooking.

7.  I'm tired of cooking.

8.  Cooking is not my cup of tea.
     Justin Bieber is not my cup of tea.

9.  Cooking is not my thing.


動画では言っていませんが、

hate

loathe 

は、とても強い意味なので、本当に嫌いなことだけに使て下さいね。

そして今回の動画で紹介しているのは、cooking や reading を見て頂くとお分かり頂けると思いますが、動詞の ing形、動名詞です。
