動画のタイトルは、
"Question Tags in English"
「付加疑問文」
です。
Question tags /ˈkwestʃən tæɡ/ というのは、「付加疑問文」と呼ばれるもので、
これは、
You are a student, aren't you?
「あなたは学生ですよね？」
'yes' 'no' を尋ねる疑問文を最後に付けるものです。
この疑問形は、「同意を求める」、「確認する」という質問です。
1) 構造は、
'a positive statement' , 'a negative question'
「肯定文」 , 「否定疑問」
You are student, aren't you? （動詞、主語）
'a negative statement' , 'a positive question'
「肯定文」 , 「否定疑問」
Mary isn't a teacher, is she? （動詞、主語）
2) Intonation 「イントネーション」は、
文の最後が
'Rising Intonation' 「上がるイントネーション」の場合は、
はっきりは知らないので、それを確認する質問です。
'Falling Intonation' 「下がるイントネーション」の場合は、
そうだろうということを確認、同意を求める質問です。
3) be 動詞
You are a student, aren't you?
「あなたは学生ですよね？」
He is very busy, isn't he?
「彼はとてもいそがしいですよね？」
She was happy, wasn't she?
「彼女は幸せでしたよね？」
They were surprised, weren't they?
「彼らは驚きましたよね？」
'Exception' /ɪkˈsepʃn/ 「例外」
▸ I am late, aren't I?
「私は遅れましたよね」
質問文の時だけ、am not の略が are't になります。
4) auxiliary verbs /ɔːɡˈzɪliəri ˌvɜːb/ 「助動詞」
You have studied all week, haven't you?
「あなたは１週間勉強？していましたよね？」
You had arrived before we left, hadn't you?
「私達が去る前にあなたは着きましたよね？」
You will pass, won't you?
「あなたは合格しますよね？」
You can speak, can't you?
「あなたは話せますよね？」
5) 普通の動詞の場合
You speak English, don't you?
「あなたは英語が話せますよね？」
He speaks Spanish, doesn't he?
「彼はスペイン語が話せますよね？」
She studied for the test, didn't she?
「彼女はテストのために勉強をしましたよね？」
6) 否定文, 肯定疑問文
You aren't a teacher, are you?
「あなたは先生ではないですよね？」
He isn't crazy, is he?
「彼は狂ってますよね？」
She wasn't relaxed, was she?
「彼女はくつろいでいませんでしたよね？」
They weren't late, were they?
「彼らは遅れなかったですよね？」
7) barely, hardly, neither, no, nobody, none, nothing, seldom
これらの単語が入っている時は、否定文として扱うので、肯定疑問文が付きます。
Nobody went to the meeting, did they?
「誰も会議には行かなかったですよね？」
Nothing is ready, is it?
「何も準備ができてないですよね？」
8) 例外
I am early, aren't I?
「私は早かったですよね」
am は、aren't になります。
Let's go to the beach, shall we?
「ビーチにいきましょう、どうですか」
Let's の時は、肯定文でも否定文でも shall we? が付きます。
There aren't any spiders, are there?
「クモはいませんよね」
there は、付加疑問文で使われます。
This is Paul's pen, isn't it?
「これはポールのペンですよね」
this は、'it' に置き換えられます。
Don't forget, will you?
「忘れないでくださいね」
否定の命令文は、will you? が付きます。
